Report of the Gender and Intersectionality Working Group

The working group is dedicated to incorporating feminist and intersectional perspectives in AEEU’s activities to view all our projects and overarching work through a gender and intersectional lens. Our meetings host esteemed guests, offering invaluable insights into gender, intersectionality, and feminism within the realm of agroecology.

On 8 April 2024, the working group hosted a meeting on Exploring ecofeminism in agroecology with Johanna Jacobi of ETH Zürich together with Agroecology Works! The discussion highlighted the challenges of promoting feminist perspectives in agroecology, despite scientific evidence supporting their importance. The persistent resistance to change within scientific and policy circles hinders progress towards more inclusive and sustainable agricultural systems.
