As we come to the close of 2025, we reflect on a year marked by both profound challenges and meaningful progress. In a world shaken by ongoing wars and genocides, climate breakdown, and political backsliding on environmental commitments, the agroecology movement has continued to show resilience and solidarity.
From inspiring gatherings such as the Agroecology Europe Forum in Malmö and the 1st International Congress of Mediterranean Agroecology in Agrigento, to the growth of the Agroecology Europe Youth Network, which now counts more than 450 members, and the expanding recognition of tools like OASIS, this year has reminded us of the strength that comes from working together across science, practice, and movements to achieve food system transformation.
This winter, dive into Agroecology Europe’s Winter Newsletter which looks back on these milestones and ahead to what’s to come. Inside, you’ll find stories from farms that inspire us, insights into our renewed governance and statutes, updates on EU policy engagement and soil health work, and powerful voices from across Europe and beyond – on agroecology, feminisms, digitalisation, and intersectionality. We hope it offers both perspective and inspiration as we head into 2026 with fresh energy, a growing team, and a new board on the horizon.
