PRESS RELEASE
Through a joint statement, Agroecology Europe and more than 20 leading European organisations representing millions of citizens, farmers, researchers and food system actors are calling on EU policymakers to ensure that Europe’s agricultural transition remains science-based, democratically governed and grounded in the public interest.
The coalition warns that the growing promotion of the strategically ambiguous concept of “regenerative agriculture” risks enabling greenwashing, weakening existing policy frameworks and diverting public support away from agroecology, organic farming and other systemic territorial approaches. At a critical moment for the future of the Common Agricultural Policy, the signatories call for stronger support for legally recognised, accountable and genuinely transformative pathways that benefit farmers, rural communities and the environment.
